Fr. Filippo Comissari (幹微忱神父) bade farewell to his community in Hong Kong to return to Italy. He opted to retire to the well-equipped PIME home for the aged and infirm at Lecco, northern Italy.

On March 6, the PIME was particularly farewell to Fr. Commissari and held the Mass.

Born in 1931, Fr. Comissari was ordained as a diocesan priest in 1954. After joining PIME, he arrived in Hong Kong in 1956. At 86 years of age, he has given 61 years of generous service to the Hong Kong diocese. He is, in fact, the first person to bring the spirit of the Focolare Movement to Hong Kong. He is humble and particularly fond of taking care of the disadvantaged in society.

We pray that Fr. Comissari will recover good health and be able to serve Church and mission even in retirement. Anyone travelling to northern Italy is welcome to pay him a visit.
